Definition
OSINT is collection and analysis built from information that is legally and publicly accessible: archives, court records, journalism, memoirs, official documents and academic study.
How the encyclopedia uses it
The encyclopedia states plainly that it is compiled exclusively from public sources and is not an official publication. The corollary is that claims with no public support are labeled unknown rather than established.
